Goat Cheese and Chive Beer Bread + A New Site Design + A GIVEAWAY!

IN THIS POST

I feel like I have a love/hate relationship with Sundays. Part of me is like “Yay! Sunday is the best day of the week for rest and relaxation reasons!” The other part of me is like “No! Tomorrow is Monday! 5 more days until the weekend! Ugh!” Are you getting what I’m putting down? We had a fabulous weekend. It was beautiful. We got a lot of house projects done and spent some much needed time outdoors. I have all kinds of fun things going on this evening. If you haven’t noticed, the website has changed! Woohoo! This change has been a long time a coming, and I am so happy that the new design is finally published! In celebration of this new design, I have a giveaway and a delicious goat cheese and chive beer bread recipe. I know, right? There are all kinds of exciting things going on!

This beer bread … oh my, guys … it is just delicious. I love baking up a loaf of beer bread because it’s just so simple. There is no need to let anything rise, which let’s be honest, can be daunting sometimes. It require only a few ingredients, many of which I’m sure are hiding in your pantries. How much better can you get? 5-ingredient beer bread you say? Yes, I’m working on it. I haven’t had much success yet. ;)

I think it is very important to remember to choose a beer that you enjoy drinking when you go to bake with it. The beer flavor really comes through in beer bread, so this is super important to take into consideration. See below for more beer fun facts.

I don’t do many giveaways. I have honestly not given it much thought since the last one I did, but I have made it my personal goal to do one giveaway per month. I feel like it adds a certain spunk to the blog, and it also gives me the chance to give away some of my favorite products (food-related and then some).

I hope everyone likes the new format of the website. You may be wondering why I decided to change it up. Well, just like anyone else, I get bored. I loved the old design. It was simple, and sometimes simple is good, but sometimes you just want some fun thrown into the mix. This is what I have hoped to accomplish with the new design. Thanks to Zach, who is a coding master, he has made all of my dreams come true!

With any big change, comes along some kinks to work out. I understand there might be some issues with the new site, and we have been tackling them all weekend. I think we are pretty good to go at this point, but if anyone is having any issues with the site, please contact me. Feedback is a glorious, glorious thing.

Let’s talk beer for a moment:

Beer Love:

Beer: Sanitas Brewing’s Saison
Brewed By: Sanitas Brewing
Style: Saison / Farmhouse Ale
ABV: 5.8%
Description: A great warm-weather brew, Sanitas Brewing’s Saison has been our go to for the past week. I really love saisons for the summertime. They are refreshing, crisp and delicious. Sanitas Saison is just that: cool and refreshing. It has notes of citrus and pepper, which are two flavors I absolutely crave in a saison. I have been really keen on cooking with saisons here lately. So in addition to pairing this bread with saison, I decided to cook with it too! Please remember that when you go to choose which beer you are going to make this beer bread with, choose something that you love to drink. As it is with most beer breads, the flavor of the beer really shines through. YOU WILL taste the beer in this recipe, so please remember this when picking a brew! If you can get your hands on this saison, I suggest giving it a go in this recipe. Just make sure you buy two, so you can drink one as well!

  7. You said you were looking for a 5 ingredient beer bread recipe….here’s a 3 ingredient beer muffin recipe that my sis-in-law gave me. It’s really good!

    Laryn’s Beer Muffins

    For 6 muffins Mix:

    1-1/2 C Bisquick

    1 T sugar

Enough beer for stiff batter (consistency of drop biscuits)

    Spoon into 6 muffin tins

Bake @ 375 until golden & done in center
