Strawberry Beermosas

While most of my life revolves around beer and wine, I do enjoy a cocktail every once in a while. I only really LOVE cocktails when there is beer involved however, and there are a ton of fun beer cocktails popping up all over the place. I think the first time I had a beer cocktail, I was in Jackson, WY at the cutest little bistro. It was definitely a lot fancier than these strawberry beermosas, but I thought I’d keep things super simple today. These strawberry beermosas are insanely easy, only require 4 ingredients and literally take 2 minutes to make if you make the puree ahead of time. They are the perfect sweet drink to serve at this year’s Easter brunch, or really any time of year!

The thing I most love about the changing seasons is the change in seasonal produce. As we put away the citrus and bring out the strawberries, I know that spring is right around the corner. With Easter for the most part falling at the beginning of spring, I knew these beeromsas needed to highlight those springlike flavors!

We are almost into prime strawberry season, which normally begins in April, so I thought strawberry was the perfect way to go for these beermosas. You can get as creative as you want though. Use whatever berry that you want. Blueberries and raspberries are especially delicious, but strawberries add a sweetness that no other berry can match.

I think cocktails (even if it’s non-alcoholic) are a must-have on Easter morning. I know it sounds strange, but I feel like you need a bright and sparkly drink to match that bright and sparkly dress and pastel(ly) tablescape. I mean, it’s basically mandatory! I definitely think the most important part of this recipe is the beer (obvs), and you have to be super careful when picking your beer of choice. Drink something that you enjoy drinking on it’s own. If you don’t like hoppy beers, don’t make these strawberry beermosas with an IPA. I personally think that this recipe is best with a white IPA or citrusy IPA, but then again, I love IPAs. Something a little lighter, like a pilsner or your average wheat beer will be a nice alternative if you’d like to avoid the bitterness.

With this week being halfway over, I wish you all a Happy Wednesday! See ya tomorrow! xo

  1. I find it so hard to keep up with “seasonal” produce here in Manitoba, where we have winter like 9 months of the year (okay, not quite that bad). I don’t really clue in until I hear my American friends talk about strawberry season being in April, and I’m all like, “what the?” — our strawberry season is for about 2 weeks in July! These look like the perfect thing to celebrate strawberry season :)

  2. Oh you KNOW I love me some beer cocktails. YUM. This is soooo pretty. The color is perfect for Spring.

  3. Now this is my kind of drink! I love that you made a beermosa! So creative, Justine! It looks so good, too…especially for a Friday!

  4. I don’t have cocktails too often either — it’s normally wine and sometimes beer. This is a great way to change up beer — I love the fruity strawberry flavor. Pinned to try!
