Meet Justine
Hi there! I’m Justine, and I’m the recipe developer, photographer, and content creator behind Cooking and Beer. Cooking and Beer was created about 8 years ago as a way to share my food and beer pairings with the world. Over time, Cooking and Beer has morphed into a business for which I am truly grateful. After a brief two year hiatus, while I returned to school to get a degree in Geography and Environmental Science, I am officially back and ready to share my favorite recipes and beer pairings.
Cooking and baking does not have to be a difficult and daunting task, and that’s why I’m here to bring you innovative and simple recipes that the whole family can enjoy. From muffins to cakes and from cheeseburgers to guacamole, Cooking and Beer basically has it all. While Cooking and Beer specializes on good food paired with even better beer, I’m also hoping to share my travel adventures and lifestyle choices with this relaunch.

I do the majority of the blog posts, while Zach does the majority of the technical stuff. With each and every new post, we learn something new, and we are so happy that you are able to go on this journey with us.
Zach and I are from southern Wyoming, and we love it. We live close to the mountains, and we spend a lot of our time skiing, mountain-biking, trail running, and just enjoying the outdoors in general. We are very grateful to live in a place that is surrounded by nature. I work full-time for a school of environment and natural resources at the University of Wyoming, and I also attend graduate school. I am majoring in public administration and environment and natural resources. Zach is a faculty member in atmospheric sciences at the University of Wyoming. We love our day jobs and wouldn’t trade them for the world.
While we are not working, cooking, baking, photographing, and writing, Zach and I spend the rest of our time with our dogs Cilantro, Tarragon, and Marjoram (she’s new!). We also love to travel and have been all over the world. From China to Indonesia and from Australia to eastern Europe, we hope to share with you some of our adventures and what we eat and drink along the way.
