It’s about that time for a good round up, and since we are less than a week away from the biggest food day of the year, a Thanksgiving round up was certainly in order. Of course, I am missing the star of the show in this round up: the turkey. To be honest, I haven’t quite decided how I’m going to tackle the bird this year. I will be sure to take notes though and put up the recipe for next year. I’m thinking a good beer-based brine is in order. I will let you all know how it comes out =). I hope you are all as excited as I am for Thanksgiving this year. This round up has many of your essential dishes: from your potatoes to your veggies to your gratins. Let’s not forget about the pies. Oh, the pies. I only have one word of advice for the big day…ok, well maybe I have two words of advice. Number one, plan ahead. Make a schedule and follow that schedule. If you are in charge of most of the cooking this year, this is most definitely necessary. Number 2: get a lot of your cooking done in advance if you can. Many of your pies can be made the day before. The chopping of your veggies can be done the day before, and any decorating can even be done a week before! Anyway, we have a delicious wintertime sangria coming your way tomorrow, and we can’t forget about those leftovers (which I think is the best part). We will be posting some delicious ways to reinvent your leftovers. Have a great weekend everyone and happy cooking!
