Spicy pigs in a blanket with homemade ranch dressing is the perfect appetizer recipe for game day or movie night!
I thought it was only fitting that I share one more game day appetizer recipe before the big game on Sunday. Hey, I don’t even need a reason to share a good dip or chicken wing recipe, but I thought it would be a disgrace if I didn’t post just one more recipe before Sunday. It would also be a disgrace to not share these spicy pigs in a blanket with you guys because they are quite literally little morsels of heaven.
I love football food, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy a good football game. I grew up in a family full of diehard football fans. My parents are from Pittsburgh, so it should come as no surprise that the Steelers would be my football team of choice. What’s funny though, is that I lived in Pittsburgh for a grand total of 8 months of my life; and it’s hysterical to me that I have such a deep connection to a city that I spent so little time in. I grew up in a military family, so we lived all over the US. From living in Kansas City to New England to just outside of Philadelphia (where I spent most of my childhood) in central NJ, I was always the odd woman out when it came to football.
Nowadays, I live out west and lived right outside of Denver for quite a while, and I am STILL the odd woman out. While I no longer live in Colorado, I live just north in Wyoming where everyone is STILL a Denver fan! We don’t have ANY professional sports teams in this state who literally has a population of just over 500,000. SLC doesn’t have a professional football team and neither does Montana, South Dakota or North Dakota. So that leaves Denver, and let me tell you, people are pretty obsessed with the Broncos.
While I could honestly care less who wins on Sunday (food will be my number one priority…obvi), I can’t help but inch a little bit towards Denver. Have to stick with the AFC. Am I right? … and I would love to see Peyton go out with a bang. Either way, I will be munching on these little bundles of heaven. These spicy pigs in blanket are perfect for Sunday and your guests will love you for making them!
So anyway, I guess I am off for today, but I have one last question for you guys…who will you be rooting for on Sunday? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Have a great day everyone!

Oh, wow. They’re SO red! And bright. I love them! And I never thought about certain states not having pro sports teams before. Crazy!

I don’t watch football, but I definitely like fun little appetizers like this! I’ve never had a spicy pig in the blanket but I definitely want to try them. This sounds amazing!
I love this spicy take on crescent rolls!! Now it’s time to dig in!
I’m not the biggest football fan. (I prefer baseball!) The food is the main reason I love the Super Bowl. :)
There just can’t be too many appetizers. Spicy and cooling Ranch sound like they are perfect for each other.
I’d be as happy as a pig in a poke with these little porkers. That spicy blanket would keep these little piggies nice warm, and spicy!
